Steven Nicholson has over a decade of private and public equity investment experience. Prior to founding Oxbow Equity Partners, Steve was a partner and co-founder of Access Holdings – a Baltimore based PE firm with over $2.7 billion of AUM. Steve also previously served as an investment professional at Sterling Partners and NightWatch Capital.
Over the course of his investment career Steven has been involved in over $2.8 billion of transactions – including ten platform investments and over 100 add-on acquisitions. Steven currently serves on the board of Kelso Industries, ONE Solutions, Columbia Home Services and Maxway. Steven has served on the boards of RizePoint, Foundation Partners Group, Kuvare Life Re and as a board observer at Livingston International, MOSAID, Remidi Senior Care, Paradigm Outcomes and Pacific Interpreters.
Steven is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minor in Economics.
Operating Partner
Steven Carroll is a seasoned executive with significant management and marketing experience. Steve is the CEO and Co-founder of Kelso Industries, an Oxbow company, which does over $500 million in revenue with over 1,700 employees. As the CEO, Steve has driven fourteen acquisitions since 2021 and continues to grow through acquisitions and organic growth.
Prior to Kelso, Steve was an executive at Walmart where he built a new business unit from $10 million of EBITDA to over $200 million of EBITDA in less than 3 years. Prior to Walmart, Steve managed over $300mm of commercial construction projects while working for some of the most respected commercial contractors in the United States (C.W. Driver, Mortenson, and Geneva Rock).
Steven is a graduate of Brigham Young University with an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.
